Makes me Shiver!

I can't stop thinking about this verse: John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. My God!

  1. You never explained why this verse makes you shiver... I'm eager to know your thoughts.

  2. Although told in 3 other books, in reading the book of John I get more of a visual on the events that took place on that day. I don't know why, but I really feel like a physical spectator. Throughout Jesus speaks of prophesy being fulfilled and when He says, "It is finished", great joy overcomes me because I realize that He did what He was sent here to do without fail. As a spectator, I can see and feel the Holy Spirit being released from Him. He spoke of His having to die in order for this to happen and it did. This makes me shiver! How sweet!

  3. Isn't it wonderful to know that when we are about to leave this life as we know it and enter into Heaven Eternal that God will say to each one of us "It is Finished"? I desire to hear that from Abba. I pray that my life does not tell the story of all the things that I was "supposed" to do and did not get accomplished. I know that each one of us have a specific purpose in life and sometimes I think it takes a lifetime to figure out what that purpose is. Maybe it's more than one single purpose...maybe it's several purposes throughout the seasons of life that culminate into your entire life purpose. Food for thought...
